God I love informationisbeautiful.net! It had me up ’til 2 in the morning! Oooh late, yeah yeah I know but you don’t understand how hard it is for me to wake up early! [note to self: 3 exclamation points in-a-row is not a good look] Below is a visualization of the Twitter community if it was 100 people(as of August 14th, 2009).

Good grief!
So I’m part of this micro-blogging social network that you may have heard of called Twitter and reading up on tweets aka status updates for all you Facebook heads. This captivating tweet appears courtesy of @WinnipegJules “FUCK THIS. can’t send meds, but can send bodybags RT @nationalpost Manitoba reserves sent body bags for flu preparation http://bit.ly/14cx1m “. Now I come across a plethora of interesting tweets but the subject matter of this particular one has been ingrained on my psyche for the last while.
Can you truly fathom how the people residing in these aboriginal communities must have felt when they had found out that dozens of body bags had been sent instead of the medicine they requested? Swallow that pill if you will. Tastes horrible? Thought so. That feeling would make me vomit. If the hand sanitizer issue was a slap in the face, this was a punch in the gut. We all knew that the federal government was unprepared, but heck this reeks of idiocy and ignorance.
You should read more about this here > “Chiefs furious after body bags sent to reserves”

*read > “We accept & acknowledge you are going to die. That is OK with us.”
