Vancouver champion DJ P-Luv battled the best in the nation at the Red Bull 3Style National Championship where he placed 3rd. P-Luv, originally from Winnipeg, is a mainstay in the west coast scene. He’s been rockin’ parties on the regular for a looong time. Don’t miss out. It’s just regular cover.

Comedian Russell Peters was in Winnipeg for a couple shows.
However in between them he along with DJ Starting From Scratch and Spinbad found time to rip it up on the 1′s and 2′s at noir wine bar. The Nightlife Types dj’s DLO and Dow Jones already hold it down but this was an extra special night to say the least!

I could have typed-up this post a few days ago when the latest rounds of rumours surrounding Apple’s super e-reader aka the Tablet were making their way across the interwebs. Alas I did not. Well then, what made me do it a few days after the fact? Let’s see: constant notices that my library books are 3 weeks overdue, the Tablet rumours, URB magazine’s decision to suspend printing and finally Canwest Global’s application for creditor protection.

Print media is dying and the digital domain is becoming an integral part of our lives in the western world. So much so, that the newspaper will be replaced by e-readers and coffee will be replaced by… well coffee I don’t think will ever be replaced in the future… unless it’s the year 3000 when you’re virtually smelling, drinking and tasting it.

It seems that the only time I feel inclined to read those darn interesting books that I borrow from the library are when I’m on the bus. I’m lazy o.k.? So the vast majority of the time I feel it’s too much effort to unzip my bag, fish around a bit and finally pull a book out while accidentally hitting the person next to me. Then I’d have to contort my body in a way that enables me to read without touching the person next to me or have them looking over and reading my book as well. Oh I forgot about the ninja shallow breathing technique I have to employ. Forget about flipping pages easily. Oh hey you can’t read a book well with one hand while standing in a crowded bus either.

This is where the super-sexy Apple Tablet swoops in and saves the day! 10.6 inches of reading, viewing and touching pleasure. A platform where magazines and newspapers can re-establish themselves. Imagine if textbooks were downloadable from iTunes. Yes of course it’ll be quite pricey at first. Give it a few years after the initial launch and prices will drop and stabilize. This sucker won’t be out until mid-2010 perhaps, but I want one for Christmas!

The Masters of the Remix Tour rolled into Peg City on Thursday, Oct. 1st at the O.C. Social Club.

I truly don’t think any other live act could be any more fresssh! KNK all the way!
Love & Electrik was absolultely that!
DJ’s Pump & Illo of the Eh Team Dj’s crew kept the party rockin’.
I have a couple vids that need major crunching… stay tuned for those.

Burns was the best opener I’ve witnessed this year.
Deadmau5 was pleasantly surprising on the decks.
Better than expected.
The crowd and atmosphere was amazing!
